“No Body Should Go Hungry”

The Daily Bread Soup Kitchen, located in the Fellowship Hall of Christ’s Lutheran Church, is open from 4 – 5 pm Monday, Wednesday and Friday afternoons throughout the year.  Approximately 40 individuals are served per day resulting in some 6,600 free meals being served each year.

Area restaurants take turns preparing delicious, nourishing soup.  At the present time soup, bread and other foods are donated by:

We thank Markertek Video Supply as a major financial supporter of DBSK since its inception in 1993.

A volunteer staff of individuals from the Woodstock Council of Churches member congregations, the Woodstock Jewish Congregation, and community service organizations, set the tables, serve the soup and clean up after the kitchen closes.

The Daily Bread Soup Kitchen opened on May 17, 1993.  The operating philosophy of the Daily Bread Soup Kitchen continues to be —

ALL ARE WELCOME
No body should go hungry.”

“For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat,
for I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink,
for I was a stranger and you let me in…”

Volunteers are always welcome to participate in the Daily Bread Soup Kitchen.  For more information,
